Sweet Desert Shemai

On any festival Shemai is  most common food for Bengali. There is different types of ways to make this desert. Also there is different types of Shemai is available. I am going to tell you how to cook Laccha Shemai.

Ingredients:
1. one liter milk

2.scraped coconut 1 cup

3. salt as per taste(you can skip it if you dont like to add salt in any desert. Salt increase sweetness.)

4. Laccha shemai 1 packet

5. Kaju Badam/Cashew Nuts

6. raisin

7. 2 piece bay leaves

8. Sugar as per taste

9. Dried fruits (optional)

Procedure:

Take milk in a pot and add the bay leaves, sugar and salt. Boil all together for 5 minutes. After that add the coconut and boil about 2 minutes in low heat. Turn off the heat and let it cool down a bit. If the temperature of milk is not too high and low then add the shemai and stir it so that they are totally soaked in milk. Add the kaju badam and raisin on top of shemai and let it seat for a few minutes. That’s it. Now you are ready to eat. You can keep the shemai in refrigerator for a few hour if you want to make it taste better.
